Complete your online training

Your referee journey starts with two online learning components delivered through Football Australia’s Learning Centre (Etrainu):

1. Laws of the Game Certificate — free
Start by completing Football Australia’s online Laws of the Game course. The course introduces the Laws you’ll need to know as a referee and includes an online examination.

Go to the Football Australia Learning Centre

If you already have a Play Football account, select “If you are a Football Australia Learner, click here to login” and sign in using your Play Football details.

If you’re completely new to football, you’ll first need to create a Play Football account. Once your account has been created, it may take up to one business day before you can access the Learning Centre.

2. Junior Football Match Official online course — $33
Once you’ve completed the Laws of the Game Certificate, the next stage is the Junior Football Match Official (JFMO) online theory course.

In the Learning Centre, select Training Library → Referee Community – Member Federation → Junior Football Match Official and search for FNSW – Canterbury Referees Association Inc.

Complete the online theory before attending your CRA classroom recap and practical session in Step 02 – Practical Training.
