Once the online components are completed, you will be able to register for the required practical course,  a 6-hour session that recaps the online courses and has on field practical sessions to learn and practice key refereeing skills such as positioning and movement, as well as whistles and signals as a referee and assistant referee.

The CRA offers a number of opportunities for practical courses, the majority prior to the winter season, although courses may be scheduled at other times.

To enrol:

  1. Check the CRA website for the next available JFMO Classroom Recap & Practical Session.
  2. Select a session that you can attend.
  3. Follow the registration link to Play Football.
  4. Complete your registration and pay the $40 practical course fee.
  5. Make a note of the session date, time and venue — then you’re ready to attend!

What happens on the day?
Your session includes both classroom and practical activities designed to help you apply what you learned in the online course. Come prepared to participate outdoors: wear comfortable sports clothing and shoes, bring a hat and water bottle, and be ready to get involved.

Can’t see an upcoming session?
CRA schedules Classroom Recap & Practical Sessions at different times throughout the referee recruitment period. If there isn’t one currently listed, check back for new dates or contact CRA for information about the next available session.
